The Bespoke Commission Journey

Creating a custom piece of jewellery is a collaborative process. Here's how we'll work together to bring your vision to life:

1. Initial Consultation

Our journey begins with an in-depth consultation, either in person at my Farnham studio or via phone call. During this conversation, we'll explore:

  • Your design vision and inspiration

  • Preferred metals and materials

  • Stone selection (if desired)

  • Your personal style and preferences

  • Budget considerations

  • Timeline requirements

For clients unsure about specific design elements, I'll provide expert guidance based on my experience as a goldsmith, helping you navigate the possibilities to create something perfectly suited to you.

2. Design Proposal & Agreement

Following our consultation, I'll develop a detailed proposal including:

  • Design description and sketches

  • Materials specification

  • Price quotation

  • Estimated completion timeline

  • Payment schedule

Once you're completely satisfied with the proposal, we'll formalise our agreement with a deposit to begin work.

3. Creation Process

Throughout the creation of your bespoke piece, I offer:

  • Regular updates on progress

  • Photo or video documentation of key stages

  • Opportunity for in-person visits to my workshop (by appointment)

  • Consultation on any decisions that arise during the making process

This transparent approach ensures you remain connected to the creation of your piece, with opportunities to provide input at critical stages.

4. Completion & Delivery

When your piece is complete:

  • Final approval will be requested

  • Remaining balance will be due

  • Your finished jewellery will be beautifully packaged

  • Delivery will be arranged via Royal Mail Special Delivery (insured service)

Important Policies

  • Bespoke commissions are non-returnable and non-exchangeable once approved and final payment is made

  • Any subsequent modifications, resizing, or adjustments will incur additional charges

  • I can provide after care advice with your finished piece to ensure its longevity.

Processing Times & Delivery

At Sara Jacks Jewellery, I create each piece with meticulous attention to detail. Please review the following information regarding processing times and delivery methods for your handcrafted jewellery.

Delivery Method

All jewellery pieces are dispatched via Royal Mail Special Delivery, which provides:

  • Next-day delivery service (for orders processed by 4pm)

  • Full insurance coverage for your valuable item

  • Signature required upon delivery

  • Tracking number provided via email

  • You will receive confirmation when your order has been dispatched, including tracking information

  • Processing times begin once payment is received and any design details are confirmed

  • For international shipping options or alternative delivery arrangements, please contact me directly

  • During peak seasons (such as December), processing times may be slightly extended

Returns & Exchanges Policy

At Sara Jacks Jewellery, I strive to ensure your complete satisfaction with every purchase. Please review the following policy regarding returns and exchanges of my handcrafted pieces.

 

PLEASE NOTE:

For ring sales, you must know your ring size. It is advised to get your finger checked in any reputable jewellers. If you advise the wrong size there will be additional cost to resize the ring depending on metal and sizing of the ring.

Timeframe for Returns & Exchanges

  • You must notify me of your intention to return or exchange an item within 14 days of receiving your delivery.

  • The item must be returned to me within 20 days of the original delivery date.

  • Please contact me by email at [your email] or phone at [your number] before returning any item.

 

Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return or exchange:

  • Items must be unworn and in their original condition

  • All original packaging must be included

  • The item must be in the same saleable condition as when you received it

  • A proof of purchase must accompany the return

 

Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Bespoke commission pieces specifically created to your specifications

  • Items that show any signs of wear or damage occurring after delivery

  • Earrings (for hygiene reasons)

  • Items that have been altered, resized, or modified in any way

 

Return Process

  1. Contact me within the 14-day period to notify me of your return

  2. Receive return authorisation and shipping instructions

  3. Carefully package the item in its original packaging

  4. Include your order details and reason for return

  5. Ship the item using a tracked and insured delivery service (return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the item is faulty)

 

Refund Information

  • Upon receipt and inspection of the returned item, I will process your refund within 7 working days

  • Refunds will be issued using the original payment method

  • The original shipping costs are non-refundable unless the return is due to a defect or error on my part

 

Exchanges

If you wish to exchange an item for a different piece, the same conditions apply as for returns. Any price difference between items will need to be paid or refunded accordingly.

 

Faulty Items

In the rare event that you receive a faulty item, please contact me immediately with photographs of the issue. If the item is confirmed to be faulty, I will arrange collection at my expense and offer a repair, replacement, or full refund including original shipping costs.

POLICIES AT SARA JACKS

Returns and Exchanges

 

Terms and conditions

You must inform me of any return or exchange within 14 days of delivery and return the item within 20 days of delivery.

 

Condition of goods

All items must not be worn and in the same saleable condition as you received the item or I can't give a refund.

Following items can't be returned or exchanged

-If the items has been damaged in anyway

-Commissions pieces made to order

-Earrings (for hygiene reasons)

Processing times and delivery

-Made up item ready to go will be posted within 3-5days if not sooner.

-If the item is out of stock and has to be made it will take 1-2 weeks to complete and ready for post.

-Commission will take 4-6 weeks depending on the design process and will then be ready for post.

All pieces will be posted by Royal Mail special delivery, an insured, guaranteed next day service which requires a signature on delivery.

The process for commissions

At first we have an initial conversation via phone or in person to find out what you want. It will cover what design you would like. This includes what metal and stones (if any) If you are not sure we can discuss and I can advise which direction to take. This also covers anything else that is important to you in your design process.

Once we have a clear idea and we agree on a design, price, payment and delivery. I will send the details to you confirming what was discussed and agreed.

I can keep you up-to-date with the process, for you to approve if you wish. This can include photos/video as we move along in the making process or face to face.

Once the final piece is approved and paid for I can no longer return or exchange this item.

Any further sizings, adjustments will occur addition costs.
