Making Jewellery Around Real Life: From My Studio Near Farnham

I’m Sara Jacks, an independent jeweller working from a small private studio just outside Farnham. It’s not open to the public, but it’s where I design and hand-make every piece—usually in between being a part-time mum and working part-time in a local jeweller’s shop.
Like many small business owners, I juggle a few roles. My days are a mix of school runs, bench work, and time spent helping customers in the shop. It’s a busy balance, but it keeps me connected to both the making and the people who wear the jewellery.
Everything I create is made by hand—no mass production, no outsourcing. Whether I’m working on a bespoke commission, reworking a family piece, or designing something simple and wearable, I take the time to do it properly. I care about the detail, the quality, and making something that lasts.
Working in retail gives me insight into what people are looking for and why jewellery matters to them. It also reminds me that jewellery is often tied to important moments, big and small—and I try to reflect that in what I make.
While my studio isn’t open to visitors, I’m always happy to meet locally for a coffee to chat through ideas or discuss a custom piece in person. If you're looking for something meaningful and made with care, I’d love to hear from you.
You can find more about my work at www.sarajacks.com, or feel free to get in touch directly to start the conversation.
Thanks for supporting small, independent businesses—it really does make a difference.
